About

My name is Carson Tazuk, better known as Coach Carson.

I’ve been a local Swim Coach in the Marin Swim League for the Lucas Valley Lightening for the past 2 seasons after spending roughly 10 years teaching swimming following my own swimming career that took me to the highly successful Santa Rosa Junior College swim team and gave me the chance to compete on the East Coast before injuries made me shift focus from athletics to academics.

After completing my Master’s Degree in English Literature at the University of Chicago, I’ve returned to swimming as a coach in the hopes to give back what I gained from the sport in terms of supporting the individual growth of our athletes. The best coaches in my career were the ones who I was able to have real, personal, relationships with. As such, my goal as a coach is to make sure every swimmer feels seen, heard, and recognized for the work that they are putting in. Beyond that, because of my own injury experience from swimming, I endeavor to give as much feedback as possible to my swimmers to make sure their form is both physically sustainable and strong, and so they understand the “why” of certain stroke mechanics.
